Verify recognition before payment
A program's marketing name is not enough. Confirm that the exact provider and program are accepted by PTCB for the CPhT education pathway.
Also check the state board
A PTCB-recognized program may not by itself satisfy every state's training, registration, background or experiential requirement.
Questions to ask the school
- Is the exact program currently PTCB-recognized?
- Does the state board approve or require this program?
- What are total tuition, books, lab, externship and exam costs?
- Does the program include calculations, federal law, medication safety, order entry and compounding?
- How is completion reported or documented?
- What pharmacies host experiential training?
